THE FAI CUP third round replay between Shelbourne and St Patrick’s Athletic due to be played this evening has been called off.
Tolka Park was scheduled to host the two Dublin clubs but a problem with the floodlights initially resulted in a 15-minute delay. After discussions with the ground staff, referee Dave McKeon then made the decision to postpone the fixture.
“A blown transformer in the generator knocked out the lights on four of the eight pylons and while there was sufficient light to commence the game it would not have been possible to play it to a finish,” read a brief statement from the FAI.

“A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.”
