Hello and welcome to our Merseyside Derby liveblog this evening. Here are the two teams.

Jordan Ibe starts for Liverpool, which is a bit of a shock. Sturridge is still on the bench.

It has been a long time since Ibe has started a Premier League game.

If you are thinking of having a bet, Everton are 21/10, Liverpool are 11/8 and the draw is 23/10.

When the two sides met earlier in the year Phil Jagielka rescued a late 1-1 draw at Anfield with this screamer.

Steven Gerrard leads Liverpool out in what could be his last ever derby. The end of an era in a way.

We are off at Goodison Park!

Everton have an early free kick but Martin Skrtel heads clear.

Sterling and Moreno exchange passes in the Everton box but the England winger’s shot is blocked.

Everton break well and Stones has a chance to play Lukaku through but the Belgian’s touch is poor and Liverpool break it up.

Both teams are playing at a high tempo so far but Seamus Coleman’s cross is too high and goes out for a goal kick.

Mirallas flashes a cross into the box but Mignolet does well to get down and gather it.

Coutinho plays a nice pass behind the defence to Sterling on the left and after beating the keeper he clips a shot a few feet wide. It was a very tricky angle but he will have hoped to have done better.

Gerrard’s dipping free kick from just outside the box is tipped over for a corner.

Everton have another opportunity to break but once again the Liverpool defence read the attack and win the ball back.

Lukaku is almost freed in the box but Can gets a foot to it and clears.

After an exciting opening five minutes the game has settled into a bit of a rut. Also, Lucas is leaving the pitch with an injury and it looks like Markovic is coming on.

Joe Allen is actually coming on for Lucas.

Sterling’s low cross is almost turned in by Ibe but Robles smothers it at his near post.

Everton have a corner after a Naismith run.

McCarthy gets a head to the corner but it doesn’t trouble Mignolet.

Naismith plays a nice one-two with Lukaku but the Scot’s shot is blocked by Sakho on the edge of the box.

Coleman makes a strong run on the right wing and his curled cross finds the head of Naismith but his header bounces into the hands of Mignolet.

Sterling appeals for handball after Stones wins the ball off him in the box. Replays show it bounced off his backside.

Ibe just cracked the post with a stinging drive. Robles was well beaten.

This happened earlier after Gerrard skied a free kick. They love him at Goodison Park.

Mirallas was free on the right but his pass was behind Naismith and the striker couldn’t get a shot away.

Sterling tries to bamboozle Barry on the left wing but the midfielder does well to block the cross into Robles’ hands.

A good ball is played long into Lukaku and it looks like he has a step on Skrtel but the defender stretches out a leg to nick possession. The big Belgian has been quite disappointing so far.

Coutinho plays the ball into Sterling on the left hand side of the box but his shot is blocked and cleared. Sterling has been very lively so far.

Coutinho shoots from 20 yards out but it lands in Robles’ hands. It was from the same area where he scored the winner against Bolton in midweek.

McCarthy picks up the first booking for a late challenge on Coutinho.

Another long ball towards Lukaku but Can beats him to it. Regardless, the flag was up.

Liverpool have a free kick 30 yards out on the right wing.

Gerrard goes short to Can but his cross is headed clear. Liverpool fans would probably have preferred for Gerrard to whip it in from there.

Ibe wins a corner for Liverpool.

Everton deal with the corner and clear.

Skrtel kicks the ball out of play as Coutinho is down holding his knee. Could be bad for Liverpool here.

Coutinho is on his feet and we have two minutes of added time.

HT Everton 0-0 Liverpool

The half started at a very fast pace but it has been short on quality for long periods. Liverpool have had the better chances and the closest either team came was Ibe’s shot against the post.

The second half is off!

Everton have a free kick 30 yards out after Allen fouls Naismith.

Mirallas curls the ball over the wall but it drifts a few yards wide.

Stones almost makes a mess of his clearance but the linesman bails him out by raising the offside flag.

Coutinho tries to play a really tight pass to Gerrard in the box but it is too hard and goes out for a goal kick.

Sturridge is getting instructions on the bench as he prepares to come on.

Barry gives the ball away in midfield and it allows Sterling to get a shot away but Robles holds it.

Coutinho plays Sterling through on the left but once again Robles beats away a Sterling shot.

Gerrard goes close with an overhead kick! Naismith deflects the spectacular effort over.

It’s all Liverpool at the moment as they press for the opening goal.

Sturridge is on for Coutinho. Rodgers must want to protect the Brazilian after that tough challenge in the first half.

Lennon will make his Everton debut now as he comes on for Mirallas.

Everton looked to have weathered the early second half storm and the game is more even now.

Not much of note has happened in the last five minutes as both sides struggle to create chances.

Coleman has gotten forward on a number of occasions but his crossing hasn’t been at its usual standard.

Sturridge tries to let the ball run through his legs to Sterling but Jagielka breaks it up. At the other end, Coleman gets the ball high on the right again but once more his cross is too high and goes over.

Sterling crosses the ball in from the right and both Sturridge and Moreno get shots away but both of them are blocked. Liverpool are starting to assert themselves once again.

Oviedo gets a yellow card for fouling Ibe and Liverpool have a free kick on the right wing outside the box.

The free kick is poor and the first man in the wall deals with it.

At the other end, Can and Lukaku have a great battle for a bouncing ball and the Liverpool player does excellently to come out of defence with the ball.

Lukaku must be close to a Premier League record for offsides tonight.

But this time the Belgian wins a battle with Can and Everton have a corner.

The ball breaks to Lennon on the edge of the box but he slices his shot wide.

Yellow cards for Henderson and Naismith after a brief scuffle.

Everton are putting a bit more pressure on Liverpool now but the visitors defence is still holding firm.

Corner for Liverpool after Barry deflects Ibe’s cross wide.

Lambert is on for Sterling.

Lambert takes a ball down on his chest just outside the box and unleashes a volley that gets blocked.

Sturridge plays the ball across the edge of the box to Gerrard who flicks it into the path of Lambert. The striker swivels but hits it straight at Robles.

Ross Barkley is on for Naismith.

Barkley finds Coleman in acres of space on the right hand side of the box and the defender’s drive is magnificently tipped wide by Mignolet. Great save by the keeper because that looked destined for the top corner.

Sturridge tees up Gerrard on the edge of the box but his left footed drive goes just wide.

Barkley picks out Lennon high on the right wing but his cross flies into the hands of Mignolet.

Three minutes added time here.

A minute and a half to go here as both teams push for a winner.

No further chances as both sides leave with a point.
