ANDRES INIESTA IS looking very much like the best central midfielder in the world right now.
The experienced star produced an influential display in Barcelona’s Copa del Rey final win over Sevilla, as the Catalan side earned a 2-0 extra-time victory, with his exceptional combination of passing, dribbling and tackling captured in highlight form on YouTube (see above).

It’s been a landmark season for the Spanish international from a personal standpoint. Himself and Lionel Messi equalled and then surpassed Xavi Hernandez’s all-time record of 25 titles for Barcelona.
In addition, he was a key player as Barca completed an impressive league and cup double, making 44 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Iniesta has also had an exceptional career at international level, winning a World Cup and two European Championships with Spain.
Moreover, he could add to the accolades at Euro 2016 this summer, as he prepares to represent Spain again.
At 32, Iniesta won’t get many more chances to compete at a major tournament, but despite his age, there are few signs of the midfield maestro’s ability declining, and if recent performances are anything to go by, his rivals should certainly be wary in the coming weeks.
