Europa League draw throws up interesting all-Ireland clash

Cork City will face Linfield, while Shamrock Rovers and St Patricks Athletic drew sides from Finland and Luxembourg respectively.

CORK CITY WILL face Belfast side Linfield FC in the first round of the Europa League, lining up an interesting all-Ireland derby meeting.

The first leg will see John Caulfield’s side travel to Windsor Park before hosting their Northern opponents at Turner’s Cross.

Meanwhile, Shamrock Rovers were drawn against Finish side RoPS Rovaniemi and St Patricks Athletic will face Jeunesse Esch of Luxembourg, the team which Dundalk FC defeated in the first qualifying round of the competition in 2014.

The games will take place on 30 June and 7 July. The second round draw takes place at 1.30pm.

In other European competitions, Dundalk FC were drawn against Icelandic champions FH Hafnarfjörður in the Champions League second qualifying round.
