Ernie Els missed an 18-inch putt - and it wasn't even close

A moment to forget for Ernie.

ERNIE ELS’ YIPS are back.

The Big Easy is in action at the BMW South Africa Open where he had this tiddler for an opening round of level par 72 on Thursday.

Els — a man who has won four Majors, remember — has struggled with his putting stroke of late and famously missed a short one at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship last year.

This putt was only 18 inches and it didn’t even challenge the hole.

Enjoyed that episode very much brought back many memories some not so & some really great. That man was a fantastic footballer
