WE MISSED THIS on Friday but it’s well worth revisiting today as it is one of the strangest sequences of play we’ve ever seen from a professional golfer.

Faced with a difficult 50-footer for birdie from the edge of the 10th green at the Wyndham Championship, Els’ first putt doesn’t even make the putting surface – prompting Nick Faldo to ask if it’s the first time a golfer has failed to reach the green with a putter in hand.

However, moments later, the South African nails a 25-footer to make one of the weirder two-putt pars you’re ever likely to see.
