PSG cleverly hit back at Eric Cantona after he labels them a 'small club'

The club used the ex-footballer’s famous quote to put him back in his place.

ERIC CANTONA IS well known for being one of football’s most eloquent, inventive insult-crafters – but his latest targets Paris Saint-Germain have come back swinging!

The former Manchester United and France striker is no fan of PSG, and made his thoughts known during a recent interview.

Speaking to FullTimeDevils, Cantona dubbed the Ligue 1 leaders a “small club” when asked about the future of Javier Pastore.

“He plays for Argentina but he doesn’t play for Paris, a small club, but since they have a lot of money they are big,” he quipped.

In response, PSG decided to use Cantona’s own words against him to suggest the criticism had washed right off their backs.

“When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think fish will be thrown into the sea,” the club stated on Twitter.

Knowing Cantona, this is unlikely to be the last word in what could be a media war between two French heavyweights!
