EOIN DOYLE HAS finally brought his spell with Preston North End to a conclusion.
League One club Bradford City have announced the signing of the Dublin-born striker on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Doyle attracted interest from several clubs over the summer, with Aberdeen and Peterborough United both understood to have had bids accepted by Preston before the player was unable to agree personal terms.
Instead, Bradford City have made a successful swoop. The former Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers forward moves to Valley Parade as a replacement for Charlie Wyke, who has joined Sunderland.

“I am absolutely over the moon to be joining Bradford City and it will be a real honour to represent such a big club. I cannot wait to get into training tomorrow and meet the players,” said Doyle.
“I am delighted the deal got done before the transfer window closed because I really want to hit the ground running and get the season off to a flying start here. The squad looks very good and I have played with a fair few of the lads in the past. There is a lot of talent here and I believe we can enjoy some success.
“I will give everything I have for this club. I will run myself into the ground every week for the team. I am already looking forward to running out in front of the fans and I will wear the No. 9 shirt with immense pride.”

While on loan at Oldham Athletic last season, Doyle scored 16 times for the League One club. He first joined Preston on loan from Cardiff City in September 2015, before making a permanent move to Deepdale at the end of that season.
A turning point for the 30-year-old at the Championship club came in December 2016, when an on-field bust-up with team-mate Jermaine Beckford during a game against Sheffield Wednesday saw both players sent off. After that, he made only two more competitive appearances for Preston.
“Eoin has shown a real desire to come to our club and that is testament to his character. We feel he will integrate very well into the group,” said former Ireland U21 international Michael Collins, who was appointed Bradford City’s head coach this summer.
“He will give everything he has to the team every time he steps out onto the field. His infectious attitude to his work will be invaluable for us.”
