Dublin's Eoghan O'Gara cleared for semi-final clash against Kerry

The Templeogue Synge Street man is now free to take to the field next weekend after having his red card against Kerry revoked.

ALL-IRELAND CHAMPIONS Dublin have received a welcome boost ahead of next weekend’s semi-final against Kerry with news that Eoghan O’Gara has been cleared to play.

The full-forward was sent off in the quarter-final against Donegal earlier this month, when he was adjudged to have struck Neil McGee, but the controversial red card has since been downgraded to a yellow following an appeal.

The Central Hearings Committee found O’Gara culpable only for ‘rough play’ rather than ‘striking with the hand’ which is deemed a yellow card offence.

The 30-year-old, who came on as a late substitute in the quarter-final, is now free to take on Éamonn Fitzmaurice’s side on Sunday 28 August.
