Big Sam's England bailed out by 95th-minute Adam Lallana winner

Underwhelming England get out of jail against Slovakia with last kick of the game.

ENGLAND LEFT IT very, very late before snatching a 1-0 win against 10-man Slovakia in Sam Allardyce’s first game as manager.

Adam Lallana scored with the last kick of the game in the fifth minute of stoppage time to get England off to a winning start in their World Cup qualification campaign.

Despite dominating possession and having 20 attempts on goal, England struggled for long periods in the Stadion Antona Malatinskeho and took 64 minutes before registering their first shot on target, Wayne Rooney drawing a save from Matus Kozacik.

By that point the hosts were already down to 10 men, former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel shown a second yellow card when he stamped on Harry Kane shortly before the hour mark.

England’s attempt to break the deadlock grew increasingly frantic but they snatched all three points at the end when Lallana’s shot squirmed through Kozacik’s legs.
