THE GAA’S INTERPROVINCIAL competition will not be going ahead next year, a Croke Park spokesperson confirmed to TheScore this afternoon.
The fixtures were omitted from the GAA’s 2011 Master Fixtures list – which was ratified by Central Council last week.
The Jones’ Rd spokesperson said:
I have the fixtures in front of me and we’re working from that for the calendar – so you can take from that that they won’t be on next year.
If they’re not on the master list, they’re not scheduled.
Now known as the Inter-pros, of course, the tournament was effectively shelved when delegates voted to suspend them for 12 months last March.

Now however, their absence from the schedule – and the admission from the Association today that they will not be played as previously expected next season – indicates that the much-maligned competitions will be officially discontinued at next April’s annual Congress in Mullingar.
