ELLEN KEANE HAS added World Para Swimming gold to her growing collection as Ireland won three medals on the concluding day of the inaugural meet in Copenhagen.
The Rio 2016 medallist started the day by claiming silver in the 100m butterfly final but went one better in the SM9 200m Individual Medley to cap a fine weekend for the Irish team.
Keane, who won bronze at the Paralympics last September, put in a commanding performance in her final event to storm to gold in a time of 2:42.87.

The Clontarf native is Ireland’s second gold medallist from the meet after Barry McClements, from Down, won yesterday’s 400m freestyle.
15-year-old McClements added silver to his personal collection in the 100m butterfly earlier while Nicole Turner narrowly missed out on a medal by finishing fourth in the final of the 200m Individual Medley.
“It was a good solid weekend of racing to begin the international season,” team manager, Hayley Burke, said.
“The World Series is a great opportunity for us to race against other international para-swimmers; normally we only get to do this at major championships so we believe this will benefit us massively moving forward. Always a bonus to come home with a medal or two – we’ll take four so.”
The next leg of the series takes place in Sao Paulo on 21-23 April.
