The women were less than pleased when Dion Phanuef [Cuthbert's fiancée] missed a check on a Boston Bruins player that allowed a two-on-one and a David Krejci over-time winner, flicked past James Reimer [April's husband] in the Toronto Maple Leaf goal.
Canadian broadcaster CBC captured the moment when April Reimer turned to look at a stunned Cuthbert. The video soon hit the internet – receiving more than three million views on various platforms – and rumours of a WAG feud soon followed. Here is the video:
Reimer took to Twitter to dismiss speculation of a rift. She explained that ‘a jerk beside us’ made a rude comment after the goal was conceded. Cuthbert, the Calgary native famous for roles in 24 and Love Actually, backed up the explanation:
The Maple Leafs kept their season alive last night with a 2-1 win in Boston that puts them 2-3 behind in the best of seven series. Reimer was ‘star of the game’ with 44 saves. Game 6 takes place in Toronto on Sunday.
