The EirGrid Leinster U21 final has been moved from Portlaoise to Navan

O’Moore Park’s pitch is currently unplayable.

LEINSTER GAA HAVE this evening confirmed that the 2016 EirGrid Leinster U21 football final between Dublin and Kildare will be played on Saturday 2 April at Páirc Tailteann.

The final was originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday 30 March at O’Moore Park but the Portlaoise venue’s pitch is currently undergoing remedial work.

Instead the clash between defending champions Dublin and 10-time winners Kildare will be played out in Navan.

In a statement, Leinster GAA said ‘in the absence of a suitable, neutral floodlit venue’ the decision was taken to play the match four days later than planned.

Dessie Farrell’s Dublin booked their place in the decider with a 12-point victory over Laois at the weekend while Kildare crushed Westmeath in their semi-final.
