A GRAPHIC IMAGE has surfaced revealing the extent of the facial damage suffered by Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson following a high-footed challenge by Liverpool’s Sadio Mané.
The Senegalese attacker received his marching orders having inadvertently planted his studs in the 24-year-old ‘keeper’s face while contesting for a bouncing ball at the edge of City’s box.
Ederson was stretchered off and missed the majority of City’s subsequent 5-0 win, and a photograph which appears to have been taken in the dressing room after he received stitches depicts the severity of the injury.

The goalkeeper reappeared in the Etihad stands before the full-time whistle after receiving treatment, and was this morning criticised by Sky Sports pundit Tony Gale for not waving to the home crowd as he was stretchered off.
Gale, in turn, was lambasted on social media for what many considered to be a nonsensical take on the incident.
Mané, who was visibly distraught as he was being ordered from the field of play, has since apologised for his challenge on the Brazilian youth international.
