Earls returns to Munster line-up for Heineken Cup showdown

The return of the 25-year-old will give Rob Penney’s side a boost for Saturday’s semi-final against Clermont.

MUNSTER HAVE MADE one change for tomorrow’s Heineken Cup semi-final meeting with Clermont Auvergne.

The switch sees Keith Earls replace Denis Hurley on the right wing but apart from that it is the same side which defeated Harlequins at the quarter-final stage.

Earls has not featured for the province since January and will be makes his return having last played competitively in Ireland’s Six Nations defeat to Italy.

On the bench, John Ryan and Billy Holland come in for the injured Stephen Archer (wrist) and Donncha O’Callaghan (knee).

Munster team to play Clermont: F Jones; K Earls, C Laulala, J Downey, S Zebo; R O’Gara, C Murray; D Kilcoyne, M Sherry, BJ Botha; D Ryan, P O’Connell capt; P O’Mahony, T O’Donnell, J Coughlan.
Replacements: D Varley, W du Preez, J Ryan, B Holland, P Butler, C Sheridan, I Keatley, D Hurley, J Murphy.
