'Two things I won't miss is chicken and pasta and warm ups' - Eamon McGee calls time on Donegal career

He broke the news using a memorable Lord of the Rings passage.

EAMON MCGEE IS the latest All-Ireland winner to bring his Donegal career to a close.

The 32-year-old has called time on his 12-year intercounty career after Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC quarter-final defeat to Dublin.

As well as the veteran defender, Rory Gallagher will have to plan without Colm McFadden, of course.

“Two things I won’t miss is chicken and pasta and warm ups,” McGree wrote today. “Thanks for all the tweets and messages feeling the love today. A great journey.”

The Gweedore man can reflect on a career that saw him win three Ulster titles and a National League medal as well as that Celtic Cross under Jim McGuinness.
