RTÉ PUNDIT AND former Ireland player Eamon Dunphy won’t be receiving any Christmas cards from Stoke midfielder Glenn Whelan anytime soon.
The veteran analyst was scathing in his analysis of Ireland’s performance in general last night, but reserved special criticism for the 29-year-old midfielder.
“He’s a terrible player. He can’t run, he can’t pass, he can’t tackle, he doesn’t see anything,” said Dunphy, who complained that the Stoke man “drives two Ferraris” and added that Whelan was “a very lucky lad to have 50 caps”.
