His round included five birdies but culminated with a double-bogey on the 18th to end the day on a sour note at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla.
Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal and Denmark’s Soren Kjeldsen are tied for second one shot back, after rounds of 69 and 71 respectively.
Larrazabal’s countrymen Jorge Campillo (fourth) and Alejandro Canizares (fifth) are also in range of the leader, sitting two and three shots off the pace heading into the final round.
Canizares shot the day’s lowest round – four-under – which included just a solitary bogey, three birdies and an eagle on the par-five 16th.
Six players – Thorbjorn Olesen, Peter Lawrie, Nicolas Colsaerts, Marcel Siem, Francesco Molinari and Graeme Storm - are tied for sixth place four shots from leader Dyson.
Overnight leader Gregory Bourdy had a day to forget, as he struggled with an eight-over 80 to fall into a tie for 24th, eight shots from Dyson.
After finishing his Saturday with four birdies in his final six holes, Bourdy completed his third round with two double bogeys and two bogeys.
