Unbelievable scenes as footballers do wrestling-style celebration

Jim McAlister and Gary Harkins came up with a unique way of reacting to their side’s goal against Motherwell.

THE FOOTBALL CELEBRATION has come a long way since the good old-fashioned handshake, which was the habitual reaction to goals back in the day.

The Klinsmann dive and the Crouch robot are among the classics that have since followed, and a variation on the RKO — a wrestling move — could be about to become equally iconic.

Normally associated with WWE star Randy Orton, Dundee’s Jim McAlister and Gary Harkins adopted it to celebrate the latter’s goal against Motherwell yesterday.

Moreover, their act earned an acknowledgement from the man himself.
