Watch: This superbly taken goal from Daryl Horgan not enough for Dundalk as Zenit snatch all three points

The winger netted early in the second-half.

DARYL HORGAN CELEBRATED his recent call-up to the Ireland squad with a fantastic finish to put Dundalk level against Zenit in the Europa League, but the League of Ireland champions were denied a point in Russia by a double from Brazilian striker Giuliano.

The 24-year-old Galway native managed to break through the Zenit defence and showed great composure to slide the ball past the on-rushing Aleksandr Kerzhakov in the Zenit goal, to put the Lilywhites on level terms early in the second-half.

The home side had taken the lead just before the break, as Zenit pounced on a mistake from defender Brian Gartland, for Giuliano to put the Russian giants in front.

But the Brazilian international, who also scored the winner in Tallaght, was to have the final say, after he netted from close range to once again break Dundalk hearts with 12 minuts to go.
