@ryan o sullivan: Harsh on O’Shea. Dublin hit him early and often but he never stopped going. Didn’t see him come down with cramp despite all that. Not overly fond of him but he didn’t shy away today. Only criticism would be his shooting. Mayo need his likes to take on the difficult shots when the game is in the balance.

@rugbyanbeer: no, Mayo cost Mayo. Dean Rock missed two easy frees in the first and fisted a point when he should have taken a goal in the second. Could have, should have, would have. Dublin are a better team. They played poorly today yet still won. That was probably the best Mayo performance of all time yet they still came up short. Nobody to blame but themselves.

Also missed Cillian O’Connor throwing the knee into the back of Johnny Cooper while waiting for a free to be taken. Also forgot to move Dublin up the field when Mayo infringed and prevented the quick free (he was only short of taking the Mayo player up the field by the hand). But look at the end of the day the stat’s only show the winners and losers.

@Mrs. Nugent: Cheers Mrs. Nugent, that session well deserved, football a winner too today between 2 sides who play proper attacking football the way its supposed to be played rather than the uber defensive muck which has attempted to destroy it. Dublin are a superbly talented athletic side whose fitness probably counted in the last 10 mins. Mayo matched them stride for stride, Dublin didn’t play badly as some pundits are making out, they were just up against a quality side.
We’ll live in continual hope in the West.

Dublin’s superiority was in their bench-I fear the next 3 All Ireland’s will be easier on them-and they haven’t shown up for the this or last years finals yet have still triumphed
