Half a minute on the watch as Mark Schutte finds the net for the Sky Blues from close range. The perfect start for Ger Cunningham’s visitors

This one could get away from Offaly quickly.

It’s that man Mark Schutte again with Dublin’s second goal. Joe Fitzpatrick responds with a point for Laois

Laois 0-3 Dublin 2-3

Zane Keenan free for Laois, Eamon Dillon on target for Dublin.

Clare 1-5 Offaly 0-4: Three points without reply for Offaly as the route one tactics pay dividends; Shane Kinsella with the latest. Clare’s lead is cut to four.

Laois 0-4 Dublin 2-2

Charles Dwyer with a super long-range point for Laois.

A little bit of controversy at half-time in Cusack Park. Offaly re-emerged from the dressing room while the Go Games were still ongoing on the pitch. Manager Brian Whelahan seemed to be suggesting that someone had knocked on their door and told them to return to the pitch.

Laois 0-17 Dublin 3-15

Neil Foyle with a Laois point but he could have taken the ball forward and went for goal.

Clare 3-22 Offaly 0-13: Very much plain sailing now for Clare.  Tony Kelly points another free to stretch the lead to a massive 18 points.

Don’t worry, we’re still here in Portlaoise! We’ve gone ten minutes without a score as this game appears to be petering out to an inevitable conclusion. Some poor wides on both sides.

Dublin have added eight second half wides to the nine they registered in the first half.

Make that nine in each half now as Johnny McCaffrey shoots wide from long-range. Something for Dublin to work on ahead of next weekend.

Clare 3-24 Offaly 0-13: Conor McGrath tacks on another. On the sideline, Colm Galvin is preparing to make his entrance after cutting short his summer in the US to come back for the Banner.

Laois 0-18 Dublin 3-15

Zane Keenan points a free for Laois, his sixth point of the game.

Laois 0-19 Dublin 3-16

David O’Callaghan nets in stoppage time before Daire Plunkett adds a point.

FT in Cusack Park: Clare 3-26 Offaly 0-15

Full-time: Laois 0-19 Dublin 4-17

That’s it from O’Moore Park. A comfortable ten-point victory for Dublin but a worrying tally of 21 wides. Plenty to work on for the Sky Blues ahead of next weekend. Thanks for joining us in Portlaoise.
