A GOAL FOR both sides in the 90th minute resulted in a 2-2 draw between Drogheda United and Galway United at United Park.
Drogheda hit the front on ten minutes through Adam Wixted. Jake Hyland broke clear over the halfway line, played the ball right to Wixted who beat Ludden and slotted the ball into the bottom corner from 25 yards.
Galway responded well and dominated the remainder of the half but the Tribesman’s two best efforts were weak shots easily saved by McGuinness.

The Tribesmen should have equalised after 49 minutes. Kevin Devaney’s corner was headed goalwards by Lee Grace but the ball hit his teammate, Stephen Folan before Drogheda managed to clear the ball to safety.
Galway deservedly equalised eight minutes from time through Padraic Cunningham. The Galway substitute found space on the right and fired low into the bottom corner past McGuinness.
Drogheda hit the front in the 90th minute as Sean Brennan found the unmarked Adam Wixted who slotted past Winn.
However, Galway would find an equaliser straight from the kick off. A long ball into the Drogheda box was met by the sliding Jesse Devers at the back post to rescue the game for the visitors.
Drogheda United: McGuinness; Elworthy, Gallagher (c), McGuigan, Kane; Wixted, Purdy, Hyland, G Brennan; Griffin (McCaffrey 73’), Elliott (S Brennan 73’).
