There's been torrential rainfall in Recife today ahead of Germany v USA

The northern city has been hit by a downpour with just hours until the crucial Group G encounter.

WITH JUST THREE hours until kick-off in the Group G World Cup clash between Germany and the US, host city Recife is dealing with torrential rain.

The crucial fixture is set to take place at Arena Pernambuco at 5pm Irish time, but images from the Brazilian venue suggest that getting to the stadium is going to be a nightmare for supporters, officials, players and journalists alike.

The rain has been hammering down all morning apparently, so it remains to be seen whether or not the conditions affect the game itself.
