DOWN AND DERRY will meet again after the two sides played out an entertaining draw in their Ulster SHC semi-final at the Athletic Grounds, with the game ending 1-16 to 0-19.

Down had been in control at half-time, despite a slow start, establishing a comprehensive lead of 1-11 to 0-7 at the break.
Paddy McCloskey fired Derry into an early lead, helping them go 0-4 to 0-2 up, before a resurgent Down began to dominate.
A goal and a point from Daniel Toner helped consolidate his side’s superiority, and further points from Paul Braniff and Dónal Hughes extended their advantage going in at the break.
Braniff added another for Down at the start of the second half, before the Derry fightback began.
A succession of points from Derry, including efforts from Tiernan McCloskey, Liam Hinphey and Ruairí Convery, enabled their side to instigate a miraculous turnaround, putting them into the lead once more.
However, a point from Johnny McCusker and two from Braniff brought the scores level, before McCloskey and Micheal Turner scored a point apiece, ensuring the sides would have to meet again.
