Malachy O’Rourke’s side built a two-point lead at half time of their Football League Division 2 final against Donegal at Croke Park.
Rory Beggan, Darren Hughes [2], Paul Finlay [2], Conor McManus, Paudie McKenna [2], Dessie Mone and Kieran Hughes all pointed to give Monaghan a 0-10 to 0-08 advantage at the break. There were second half goals from both sides but the Farney men held on for a much deserved victory.
