BILLY SHARP SCORED for Doncaster on an emotional night for the striker at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The player was a surprise inclusion in the line-up following the tragic death of his two-day-old son.
Earlier, the club insisted that Sharp would miss the Championship clash with Middlesbrough.
Sharp was ruled out of the 1-1 draw with Coventry at the weekend due to an unspecified “family issue”. It was revealed by club officials this afternoon that Louie Jacob Sharp passed away over the weekend however.
Sharp’s Doncaster teammates led fans in a minute’s applause before kick-off after a message from the player which reads: “‘This is a minute’s applause to celebrate the short life of Billy and Jade’s son Louie Jacob Sharp.
“Born 27th October. Taken by the angels on the 29th. Sleep tight son.”
After the player scored he revealed a message on his shirt – That’s for you son.
Boro ultimately ran out 1-3 winners.
Terrible news for Billy, RIP to his little soon.
Poor kid. RIP
Puts Tevez’s strop completely into perspective now doesnt it?
Some human been. Not sure how he could manage to play or be interested.
