DJ Carey is released from hospital, given clean bill of health

The Kilkenny hurling legend was kept in hospital overnight as a precaution, but has now been discharged.

KILKENNY HURLING LEGEND DJ Carey has been released from hospital and given a clean bill of health, after he was taken ill on Tuesday.

The 41-year-old fell ill while waiting to get a form signed at a Garda Station, with initial fears that he had suffered a heart attack.

However, tests on Carey showed that he had not suffered any form of cardiac issue, though it was decided to keep him in St Luke’s Hospital overnight for observation.

The former All-Star’s location has been kept secret in order to evade journalists who had camped outside his old home in Gowran, and the hospital itself.

According to the Kilkenny People, it is expected that he will return to Young Ireland GAA Club later this week to train the intermediate team.
