ROSCOMMON WERE COMFORTABLE 1-21 to 0-13 winners over Limerick in Kiltoom. Cathal Cregg was in scoring form for the Rossies while Diarmuid Murtagh stepped up with a first-half goal. Limerick rallied to score four unanswered points in the second half before Donie Shine and his teammates upped the ante to run out clear winners.
Over at Markieviecz Park, Sligo were rarely in trouble against Offaly and won out 0-18 to 1-12. Mark Breheny was in good form for the hosts while Niall McNamee tried his best in a losing effort for The Faithful.
Fermanagh looked set for an away win in Longford but were stunned by a second-half comeback. Fermanagh led 2-5 to 0-2 after goals from Sean and Seamie Quigley. They led by four at the break but Longford came out of the traps thereafter and were inspired by Paul McKeon. They scored 10 second-half points to shade the tie.
There were not as many scores, or scoring chances, at O’Kennedy Park as Wexford fell seven points short against Cavan. David Givney and Niall Murray knocked over the pick of the Cavan scores.
