VIDEO: Stunning Diarmuid Murtagh point sends Roscommon into All-Ireland U21 final

Cork conceded a late free as their substitute Sam Ryan was penalised in injury time from breaking a little known rule.

ROSCOMMON EDGED OUT Cork 1-19 to 3-12 in a thrilling U21 football encounter to reach the All-Ireland final. The young Rebels produced a stirring second-half comeback but were denied by the nerveless free-taking of Rossies forward Diarmuid Murtagh.

With the semi-final two minutes deep into injury time, Cork substitute Sam Ryan was penalised for picking the ball off the pitch between his knees [contravening Rule 4.3].

Murtagh was faced with an extremely tricky free attempt but steepled in a beauty from 40 yards out and close to the touchline. It proved to be the winning score.
