SLIGO BOSS KEVIN Walsh has resigned in the wake of his side’s championship exit against Derry today.
Walsh saw his team defeated by seven points in Owenbeg in round 1 of the All-Ireland football qualifiers.

And it caps off a miserable campaign for the Yeats County after they lost to London in the Connacht championship.
Walsh took over as Sligo manager in November 2008 and lead Sligo to the Division 4 league title in 2009, the Division 3 league crown in 2010 and they reached the Connacht final in 2010 before they came unstuck against Roscommon.
Division 2 champions Derry progress to tomorrow’s draw after controlling the game from start to finish. Enda Lynn was the first name on the scoresheet as they opened up a seven-point gap without reply during the early stages.
Sligo eventually got off the mark and scored two in quick succession but Lee Kennedy ensured that the Oak Leaf County went into half-time up by six points.
Kevin Walsh’s men did put up more of a fight after the interval but Kennedy, Lynn and Ryan Bell wrapped up the game with further scores.
