DERRY CITY BEAT Bray Wanderers 2-0 at the Brandywell this afternoon, to keep up the pressure on leaders Sligo Rovers at the top of the Airtricity League.
Michael Rafter gave his side a first-half lead with a strike from distance that Bray keeper Sean Holmes will feel he should have dealt with, as he let it slip through his grasp.

Rafter then doubled his side’s advantage, as he headed home from Paddy McEleney’s cross just after half-time.
Elsewhere, a late Declan O’Brien penalty helped Drogheda United earn a 1-1 draw with Cork City at Hunky Dorys Park, after John Dunleavy was penalised for a handball in the box.
The visitors had taken the lead just after the half-hour mark, with a Shane Duggan strike from the edge of the box finding the net following a mix-up in the Drogheda defence.
Later in the evening, Bohemians defeated Shelbourne1-0 at Tolka Park.
The only goal of the game came through Kevin Devaney inside the first five minutes, as he converted from close range following a Stephen Traynor corner.
Shels, who had captain Ian Ryan sent off midway through the second half, improved after the break, but could not unlock the visitors’ defence ultimately.
Meanwhile, Sligo continued their winning ways with a 3-0 defeat of UCD at the Belfield Bowl.
The reigning champions went ahead through Aaron Greene on 27 minutes.
David Cawley scored Sligo’s second goal just before the hour mark, after the Students failed to clear a corner properly, before Greene added his side’s third with a superb solo effort on 77 minutes, to make it a comfortable victory for the visitors ultimately.
