DEMETRIOUS JOHNSON CONTINUED his dominance of the UFC’s flyweight division last night as he dispatched the challenge of Wilson Reis at UFC Kansas City.
The 30-year-old equaled Anderson Silva’s UFC record of 10 title defences with a third-round submission of Brazilian Reis.
After the fight, Johnson was asked whether he would seek a record 11th title defence at this weight or move up to the bantamweight division where he would potentially face the winner of Coby Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw.

“I already told Dana White, I need seven figures,” he said. “I need a $1 million payday. I’m out here whooping and cleaning up. Every time we step into the Octagon, we bring it.”
Meanwhile, Robert Whittaker secured an upset win with a TKO victory over Brazil’s Ronaldo Souza on Saturday night.
The middleweight bout was part of the main card at the Sprint Center as Whittaker, who went into the fight as a heavy underdog, announced his arrival in the division by scoring a TKO in the second round.
The Australian remains undefeated since moving into the middleweight division having recorded six wins — and now he’s looking to enter the octagon with champion Michael Bisping.
“Bisping owes me a fight,” he said. “We were supposed to fight all those weeks ago and he’s cool doing his own thing, but you owe me a fight.”
