Demaryius Thomas's immaculate reception earned Tim Tebow $250,000

In addition to catapulting the Broncos into the play-offs, the quarterback’s game-winning pass activated a lucrative salary accelerator.

HIS THROWING ACTION might unfold with all the elegance of a docking car ferry, but what Tim Tebow lacks in technical proficiency, he more than makes up for in dramatic timing.

The devout quarterback’s game-winning pass during the final moments of last night’s NFL wildcard play-off between his Denver Broncos side and the Pittsburgh Steelers sent Twitter and YouTube into meltdown.

It also gave his bank manager something to cheer about.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has the details:

“Tebow has an escalator of $250,000 in his contract for each playoff win and 70 percent playtime during the requisite season…

Being that he played 73 percent of the plays this season, Tebow cashed in on a quarter-million salary escalator for Sunday’s 29-23 overtime victory and could earn another $250,000 with another victory Saturday night at New England against the Patriots.”

Given the eerie symmetry of his passing statistics – that may or may not offer irrefutable proof of God’s existence – who would bet against the 24-year-old adding to his bank balance this weekend.
