BRAZILIAN CLUB FIGUERENSE are quite literally stooping to new levels in an attempt to defend against free-kicks.

This clip comes from Sunday’s Serie B match against Palmeiras where midfielder Ricardinho (wearing the number 10) was brought back to do an unusual job in the Figuerense wall.

As Jorge Valdivia prepared to take the free, Ricardinho lined up behind the rest of the wall and then lay flat on the ground in anticipation of a low shot on goal.

Valdivia went high instead but the wall still did its job and cleared the danger. Now all Figuerense need to do is work on the other aspects of their defending; they lost 3-2 and dropped out of the promotion places.
