Bonner was ratified at a county board meeting tonight in the Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey. He’ll take charge on a three-year term, having previously managed the county between 1998 and 2000.
In recent seasons Bonner helped bring through a talented crop of underage players in Donegal. The senior squad are going through a transitional phase at present, as a large number of the 2012 All-Ireland winners announced their retirement in the past 12 months.
But Bonner, a 1992 All-Ireland winner, managed Donegal minors to Ulster success and an All-Ireland final appearance in 2014, while he delivered the Ulster U21 crown earlier this year.
