Injury-plagued Australia had no answers to the stylish home side, who ended a run of five defeats to the Wallabies after leading 14-3 at half-time.
“Yeah it is obviously much nicer winning than losing, but I still think that there is a lot we can improve on, for a change that we managed to capitalised on the pressure that we put on the opposition,” de Villiers said.
“Again someone (journalist) asking me about the change in game plan it seemed to come off, you know we haven’t changed one thing and I think that is what people don’t to understand, when it comes off it is great.
“When we can execute and finish off those opportunities. In the previous two weeks I said that we needed to learn from our mistakes and I think we did that today, we created lots of opportunities in the previous two weeks but we couldn’t capitalise on them.
“It was tough week and we were under pressure and it is just nice to get a win and to repay the faith that the coach showed in us and to pay him back for that and for the fans out there with the support that we have been getting in the last few weeks.”
