Exiled Davy O'Halloran will play for the Clare footballers instead this summer

‘Humiliated’ hurler togged out with Colm Collins’ squad for training this week.

EXILED CLARE HURLER Davy O’Halloran has joined the Banner’s footballers ahead of their Munster championship opener.

The Eire Óg clubman togged out with Colm Collins’ squad for training this week as he bids to relaunch his inter-county career.

The news was first reported by John Fogarty of the Irish Examiner on Wednesday morning.

O’Halloran claims he was “humiliated” by hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald following a breach of discipline and subsequently quit the squad last month.

Nicky O’Connell, who was involved in the same incident, rejoined the hurling panel earlier this week.

But there looks to be no going back for O’Halloran who will now prepare for the Munster SFC quarter-final against Limerick on 23 May.
