AS IF THERE was ever any doubt about how cool David Pocock was, the brilliant Australian back row is proving it again this week with his choice of holiday.
Rather than simply hit the beach or some big city shopping destination like your average sporting superstar, Pocock is taking on some serious looking work and training in the country of his birth, Zimbabwe.
Pocock is training with the Malingwe Scouts, working for a non-profit trust to protect wildlife and ecosystems from poachers and other man-made threats.
Whatever way you slice it, this must be heavy going in an African summer.
That’s how the poacher turned gamekeeper stays ripped!
Of course, it was more than just trekking around, tracking white rhino the kept Pocock in mean shape during the off-season. He’s getting regular work-outs in whenever he can too.
What a guy.
Superb player and leader. RIP Der Kaiser
One of the greatest of all time. Captained west Germany to the World Cup in ‘74 and manager in 1990. Won the European Cup three years on the trot with Bayern in the 70’s too. Just a proper football man. One of the best I’ve ever seen. And such a nice guy too. RIP Kaiser.
@Aidan Farrell: I doubt you seen him in fairness.
RIP Der Kaiser. A Bayern man through and through but a hero of the German game nonetheless. Two World Cup wins as a player and manager, and a European Championship too. Gave Hamburg one of their last ever Bundesliga titles in ’82 in his only season for them. Phenomenal player.
What a legend of the game. RIP
Great Player RIP.
RIP Der Kaiser.
What a player. Johnny Giles reckoned that Beckenbauer was the best he’d ever played against.
Rest in peace.
One of the Best. Rip Franz.
RIP
Rest in peace
