FORMER MANCHESTER UNITED manager David Moyes is being investigated by police over an allegation of assault at a wine bar on Wednesday night.

The Blackpool Gazette newspaper are reporting that the 51 year-old Scot, who was sacked as United boss last month, was at The Emporium wine bar and restaurant in the Clitheroe area of Lancashire accompanied by another man.

Local police issued a statement earlier today saying that officers arrived at the premises at about 10pm on Wednesday night after a 23 year-old local man had been assaulted by a 51 year-old. The victim’s injuries aren’t thought to be serious and he didn’t require any hospital treatment.

Police have confirmed that they’re speaking to witnesses and examining CCTV footage to get a better understanding of what happened.

They also said no one has been arrested yet in relation to the incident.
