Three's company: Meyler heads to Hull on loan

The Republic of Ireland midfielder moves to the Championship until 1 January.

SUNDERLAND’S DAVID MEYLER will link up with Republic of Ireland team-mates Paul McShane and Robbie Brady after agreeing a short-term loan to Hull City.

After re-signing Brady for a second spell last week, the Tigers boosted their Irish contingent today by sealing a move for Meyler until 1 January.

The Cork native, 23, is reunited with former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce as well as Black Cats winger Ahmed Elmohamady who is also out on loan at the KC Stadium.

He could be called into action this weekend when high-flying Hull, currently fourth in the Championship, travel to Cardiff City.

Meyler, McShane and Brady will link up with Giovanni Trapattoni’s Ireland squad ahead of next week’s friendly against Greece in Dublin.
