MANCHESTER UNITED GOALKEEPER David de Gea remained coy on a possible release clause in his contract that would allow him to move to Real Madrid.
De Gea endured a difficult start to the 2015-16 campaign, as he was temporarily dropped in favour of Sergio Romero at Manchester United when his future at the club was uncertain, due to strong interest from Madrid.
The goalkeeper recently signed a new contract with United until 2019, resolving his future after a summer of speculation, with some claiming his new deal contains a clause that would allow him to leave if Madrid meet a set fee, believed to be ยฃ30 million (โฌ40m).
However, the Old Trafford man was in no mood to go into details when questioned about the existence of such as clause.
โYou should ask (my agent) Jorge (Mendes) that question; heโs the one who pays attention to those details,โ he said.
Since returning to the United starting line-up, De Gea has since put in a string of impressive performances, with Spainโs 1-0 Euro 2016 qualifying match with Ukraine his latest eye-catching display.
Iโm in the best form of my career. I always try and do my best. Things worked out well and the important thing was to win the game,โ he told reporters.
โI always give my all and against Ukraine luck was on my side too. This is the way forward.
โFor a goalkeeper, all saves are important, but if I had to choose one, maybe the stop with my feet in the first half with the game tied at 0-0. Iโd opt for that one as my favourite.โ
De Gea got the nod for Spain ahead of Iker Casillas, who was the man between the sticks in last weekโs 4-0 win over Luxembourg, but there is no animosity between the pair.
โIker congratulated me on the performance,โ he said.
โHeโs been an elite player for so long, so itโs natural he wants to help me along, of course.
โI just want to be at the top of my game to make the decision for Vicente del Bosque as difficult as possible as to who should start at Euro 2016.โ
I wonder will it be as good as the Middleweight fight of Froch V Groves 2, which tool place in front of 80,000 people at Wembley. Not many people know that, Froch is very hesitant to mention it.
@Johnny: that wasnโt at middleweight
@Gareth: Super-Middleweight has the word Middleweight in it, so i stand by my comment haha to many branches of divisions these days all for the sake of 3 or 4 pounds.
@Johnny: these days lol
@Johnny: theres an 8 pound difference between middle and super middle
@Cathal Scully: In the lower weight classes thereโs 4/5 lb difference in some, my point about weight classes wasnโt directed specifically at Middleweight. Jesus, a man can put a smart comment up here without getting dogs abuse! Haha
Great fights, felt Hagler did enough to win against SRL, Hagler-Hearns was quality
Iโm going for Canelo on points, or possibly a late stoppage. I believe he has superior boxing skills, heโs the younger man and heโs the better all round fighter.
