The midfielder ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee during Ireland’s win over Kazakhstan and is expected to miss several months.
But Everton manager Roberto Martinez revealed that there is no further damage and he is optimistic on Gibson’s recovery.
“The ACL is ruptured but the knee reacted well and nothing else is damaged,” Martinez said at today’s press conference.
