Another blow for the Dubs as Sutcliffe ruled out of Championship opener

The Leinster champions are missing some key men for Saturday’s trip to Wexford Park.

DUBLIN HAVE BEEN dealt another setback with the news that Danny Sutcliffe will not be fit for Saturday’s Leinster SHC semi-final against Wexford.

Dubs boss Anthony Daly had already been planning without first-choice goalkeeper Gary Maguire for the Championship opener in Wexford Park (7pm) as he recovers from a fractured thumb.

Now Sutcliffe, who was one of Dublin’s standout performers in the league campaign, has been ruled out following surgery on a hand injury.

There is a major question mark too over the fitness of All-Star defender Liam Rushe (hamstring) while David Treacy is battling a quad injury.
