FORMER LIVERPOOL MIDFIELDER Danny Murphy today announced his retirement from football at the age of 36.
Murphy, who played over 600 games and won nine England caps in a 20-year career, said that he made decision “three or four weeks ago” but kept it to himself.
As a tribute, here are two of his career highlights: the winning goals scored into the Stretford End against Liverpool’s old enemy Manchester United.
