He fielded questions about his home near Johnstownbridge — “10 minutes away from a small village in the middle of nowhere where the roads get narrower and narrower the closer you get to my house” — and his parents’ reaction when he left for Oz.
“Ma and Da were both crying at the airport when I left,” he told the club website, “but both of them understand what this opportunity means and both said I had to go.
“I’ll be using a lot of Snapchat, Facebook and Twitter!”
