ANYONE WHO HAS seen footage of Arsenal’s recent 6-1 hammering of Peterborough in the FA Youth Cup will have been mesmerised by the stellar performance of 16-year-old midfielder Daniel Crowley.
Possessing great balance, superb vision and an eye for goal, the young Gunner put in a man-of-the-match performance to back up comparisons with Jack Wilshere by parts of the British media.
And although he is being tipped as a future England number 10, Crowley was lining out for Ireland’s underage teams not too long ago.
While at his former club Aston Villa, the teenager appeared for the Boys in Green at U15, U16 and U17 level before making the decision to switch allegiance last year.
He was then snapped up by Arsenal’s acclaimed academy in the summer.

As this footage of the win over Peterborough shows, Ireland look to have missed out on a genuine talent.
