Damien Delaney denies any training-ground fight with Roy Keane

Stories of a row between manager and player are ‘complete nonsense’, says Corkman.

DAMIEN DELANEY HAS dismissed the reported bust-up with Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane.

Yesterday, the Portman Road club denied that the two had been involved in a heated training ground bust-up.

Delaney, who has two Ireland caps, also insisted on the club’s website that the story is ‘rubbish’.

I know the club issued a statement dismissing the story and I want to support that. I don’t know where the story has come from but it’s total rubbish.

It’s completely untrue.

The only fight I’m having at the moment is to get back in the team.

I need to show the manager that I should be starting games for this football club and the only way I’m going to do that is to keep my head down and work hard on the training pitch and wait for my chance.

It will be interesting to see, however, if the former Turner’s Cross defender is drafted back into the team this weekend. Delaney lost his place at full back after he was sent off in the East Anglian derby defeat to Norwich.
