Daly disappointed as Tomas Brady's switch to Dublin footballers confirmed

The Na Fianna clubman hopes to force himself into Jim Gavin’s plans ahead of 2013 football campaign.

DUBLIN HURLER Tomas Brady will switch codes ahead of the 2013 season.

A spokesperson for the Dubs’ county board has confirmed to TheScore that the Na Fianna man “has made himself available to Jim Gavin and the Dublin senior football management team for the foreseeable future. Jim envisages meeting up with extended panel in early to mid November.”

The decision marks a big loss to Anthony Daly’s set-up after a tough year for the county’s hurlers.

The Clareman was unavailable for comment at the time of writing but he told the Evening Herald: ”I’m very disappointed to hear the news from Tomas. I wish him the best of luck — he’s a fine fella. But it’s very disappointing from a Dublin hurling point of view.

“A guy has to follow his heart, and if that is what he wants to do there is nothing we can do about it.”
